Their are 2 types of linear machines on the market: Low Displacement and High Displacement
The Vibeplate has linear pulses going THREW the plate. The DKN XG10Pro has a high displacement moving plate, the total opposite. Decide which linear type is best for you.
There is a small niche of people that want the 100% linear type and will have no need for a pivotal type vibration machine. The liner types range from plate that don't move at all (VibePlate) to type that are set up on a spring suspension. The types that move up and down have been known in the industry as the jack hammer type. There are some brands that have amplitudes over 2mm and those are mainly for strength training, If someone has a bad back or weak knees, I recommend the linear type where the plate is still while the pulses are passed "through" the plate without actually moving the plate up and down.
Note: for lymphatic drainage, linear types that do not go slow enough (5 to 6 vibrations a second) don't allow enough time for the one way valves to open and close to drain the lymph.
The linear types that have the suspension system that I have reviewed are the Hypergravity, DKN, and Powervibe models. These are my favorite brands and each of them perform slightly differently. The most gentle of the linear types is the VibePlate. For people that have bad knees and backs who want to build bone density this is the machine I usually recommend. I give an A+ to the Vibeplate for bone density but if someone really wants a machine that is focused on bone density I would pick this one but for wanting to have a multi purpose machine that does lymphatic drainage at the same time, this still will drain some but is not dedicated to that. A high acceleration pivotal type would be more multipurpose. The Hypervibe would be an example. The aluminum Vibeplate which is much lighter than the steel version they make, has the same motor power but the steel version has less "pop" to it as the heavier steel dissipates more of the energy. The steel version is just as strong but has a more throw or "push feel.
As far as chiropractic clinics, the Vibeplate and DKN XG10 models are the two main brands sold to clinics.
The DKN brand is my favorite as the amperage is much higher than most linear models. The power is super intense compared to some of the lower amperage models I've tested. A machine with high AMPS is much more expensive so this is why the XG10 model is so costly.
If it is someone's first time getting a linear plate, my best recommendation would be the VibePlate. Since the jack hammer type ballistic impact from the non moving plate has been removed, the VibePlate is easy to use every day and I never have to worry about my heals getting tender from leaning back and letting the force travel up my spine.
